Bill: Social Reforms

Details

Submitted by[?]: Social Calvinist Unionist Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 2228

Description[?]:

Seeing how the PNF has been given a mandate by the people, we shall begin to initiate reforms. For too long has Luthori been ruled nearly single-handedly by the religious right, an in the name of all that is good and glorious about our democracy, we shall contribute our own bills, so that everyone in our fair nation shall have a chance to choose their fate, instead of having to choose only one because the opposition parties are too lazy or small.

MessageWhile we would support progressive and moderate changes: these are revolutionary to the extreme.

MessageHow are these revolutionary? I'm allowing gambling only in liscensed locations, I'm allowing Alcohol to only be sold in registered outlets (it's the second-most-restrictive measure, after banning), and it was either legalise all sexual relations or ban heterosexual ones (between the choices, I mean. I would never support that second one), which one do you think is less extreme? And I made it so that one can get an abortion only before the child would be able to live on its own. In the second and first trimesters, a fetus has no chance outside the womb, therefore should be considered "fair game", so to speak. In the third trimester, however, the child has a much higher chance of being able to survive outside the womb, therefore it can't be aborted.

MessageModerate and progressive changes would have been: -
Abortions are only allowed in medical emergencies.
Only heterosexual couples and singles may adopt children.
Homosexual relations are illegal, but are not prosecuted.
