The Progressive Party was shocked by the decision of the Country National Party (CNP) not to support its proposal for a coalition between the CNP, the PP and the RPE, the Party, outraged and shocked, decided to withdraw the support for the cabinet of the Prime Minister Christopher Brooks, minority cabinet in the Diet, the Progressive Party has now joined the ranks of the opposition with the Brown Cross and the Conservative Party.
