Bill: SLE - Agricultural Subsidies Act 2228

Details

Submitted by[?]: Shalom Lechem v'Eretz Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 2230

Description[?]:

There is growing concern about corruption in local governments who are able to allocate treasury funding to farms in their constituencies.
An independent study by a private news network has uncovered numerous rural communities in which the only farms receiving government subsidies are those owned by members of town councils.
While an intense auditing operation could uncover and prosecute the culprits, the full extent of this practice may take years and vast funds to investigate.
I propose to put the power of subsidy allocation in the competent hands of the Minister for Agriculture, to put paid once and for all this insidious abuse of delegate authority.

MessageAny proof of these allegations?

If this is indeed true, the better route would be to publicize this cronyism and let the voters crucify the culprits at the local polls!

MessageIt is a matter for the Minister for Internal Affairs to investigate, prosecute and release information on these individuals.
I continue to contend that the power of subsidy allocation be put in the hands of the Imperial Cabinet. Any discussion on this point?

MessageI continue to contend that our five provinces of differing socio-economic compositions should be allowed to determine their own policies on the matter under the watchful eye of their respective electorates.

MessageOh well, I'm sure I'll have VBS' support. They may prefer no subsidies whatsoever, but central control of them must be a good second-best.

You are trying to take advantage of the situation by just not making things worse. That's not gonna happen
