Description[?]:

The Progressive Party propose to adjust the government's spending budget to better address the economic and social situation of the Holy Luthorian Empire (Luthori). The new government budget for the year 5101 will be one of the most appreciated by the population, but it will also be the one that will further divide the Progressive Party on the way forward, on the Economic Crisis and the Government Response, the Government decided to follow Kennedy's path of ensuring moderate laissez-faire, but also ensuring relatively heavy government interventionism in the economy, this angered not only members of the Internationalist (Communist) Branch, but also some Moderates and Liberals, Moderates and Communists think there should be high government interventionism in the Economy, raise taxes for the wealthy and also not lower the government budget, or even increase it. All of this they put in the Willis Plan for Fighting the Economic Crisis, written by MP William Willis, MP for 10 years, from his constituency of Orange, a member of the Moderate Branch of the Party, he wrote this plan based on the government's decisions on Luthori's rearmament and hoped that it would be adopted, but the government, in the hope of reassuring Moderates and Liberals, adopted the Plan of Callum Kennedy, owner of Kennedy's Industries , advocating to adopt a policy of budgetary austerity, by increasing taxes, by lowering the government budget between 10 and 20 billion per year, by re-putting taxes suppressed by votes of the Diet, to put in place a policy where the government could intervene in the economy, but by leaving independence to companies for free trade, by abolishing protectionist tariffs and by restricting federalism. For Progressives, Federalism is important, but it is not the Party line, and so the Government was more inclined to choose this plan and especially with the new Brown Cross policies in Erneshire, for Progressives and Government , Federalism must be restricted and the National Government must have a good part of the powers to be able to avoid that the Duchies become more Important than the National Government.

MessageThe Conservative party welcomes these reforms and agrees with the progressive sentiment. A situation like this requires cuts and less economic restrictions. We can't spend our way out of this one.
