Bill: 9/5107: Kalliades Law on Political Representation

Details

Submitted by[?]: Αnypótakti

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 5108

Description[?]:

Members of the Kalopian Parliament,

We believe that a democracy should have proper representation. It is our citizens who elect us to represent them, and to have only 300 people speaking on behalf of more than 33 million Kalopians (http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=8908) means that each of us shall represent 113,000 citizens, a illogical number. With this reform, each of us carry the weight of representing 45,000 citizens, less than half of the previous representation, with representation allocated by districts, with each district electing its representative.

About the reason of choosing 749 and not 750, it is done so there is no chance of political lockdown in terms of parliamentary majorities.

Herakles Kalliades
Prime Minister of Kalopia
