Bill: Local Management of Environmental Issues Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Social Devolutionist
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: May 2230
Description[?]:
Whilst the SD believe that there are certain matters including budgetry matters and international issues that should always be within the remit of the Central government, we believe that a numberof issues, where the direct effect is local, are best delat with at a local level. A Local Government has the opportunity to be a more responsive government, acting on the wishes, needs and priorities of its local constituents more readily. |

Date | 12:29:37, May 19, 2006 CET | From | dAda rEvoluTion | To | Debating the Local Management of Environmental Issues Act |
Message | The dAda rEvoluTion will not support this bill as a renouncement of the government responsabilities about environment. In case of international treaty, it's not our local governments to decide wether they will apply it or not. |
Date | 13:08:18, May 19, 2006 CET | From | Social Devolutionist | To | Debating the Local Management of Environmental Issues Act |
Message | I accept the dAda rEvoluTion position that these matters are best dealt with at national level. That is an ideological difference between our parties. At this time however Vanuku is not party to any international environmental treaties and this law would not therefore result in any breach of a subsuting treaty. |

Random fact: When you join the game, you will find yourself with only zero seats. That's because your party's representatives haven't been elected yet. You need to establish your party's position on issues by proposing several bills that your party wants passed and sending them to vote. This raises your visibility and if you do it enough, you will win seats at the next election. |
Random quote: "The decadent international but individualistic capitalism in the hands of which we found ourselves after the war is not a success. It is not intelligent. It is not beautiful. It is not just. It is not virtuous. And it doesn't deliver the goods." - John Maynard Keynes |
