Bill: Biological, Chemical and Nuclear Weapons Bill

Details

Submitted by[?]: Lodamun Values Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 2234

Description[?]:

The use of Biological, Chemical and Nuclear weapons is immoral due to their indiscriminatorial nature and long term effects. We therefore resolve to ban the use of such weapons and seek diplomatic solutions instead. We will also actively lobby other countries to accept a ban on Biological, Chemical and Nuclear Weapons.

Messagei am not going to support this. This restricts Lodamun's ability to deter possible aggressors, if we have these weapons and appear that we have no problem using them, they can act as a defensive weapon, allowing Lodamun to maintain a small standing army in the process.

MessageDoes the ends justify the means? Are you happy holding a gun to all of our citizens heads? By holding nuclear weapons we are declaring that we find their use acceptable.

If you follow the policy that we appear to have no problem using them you will face a dilemma when their use is required

Random quote: "A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks." - Thomas Jefferson
