Message | While I would be for this measure with all my heart, have you considered the drain on our resources? While students go on to study the great footballer Geremiah Esteban of Falistan, not so many are going into Medecine. I think a scholarship scheme encouraging the er..more useful courses like politics, medecine, law, dentistry, engineering would be better, and less expensive. Curtis Barnes, Economy Minister. ooc: note that was ic before any ooc comments. |

Message | I certainly agree with what you have said to a certain extent, I am wondering however, if this Bill passes, what incentives can we offer to encourage students to take the courses that you suggest? |

Message | Actually, I think schemes encouraging Nursing and Teaching would be better. Increasing the number of places in more 'useful' areas should solve that problem however. |

Message | The other point is, this does not eliminate the possibility of setting quotas on the number of fully paid spots at university, which of course will be academically chosen. Then having a number of partially subsidised and no-subsidy spots will lessen the strain on our resources. As long as at least 50% of spots are fully subsidised. I will change the bill to reflect that. |

Message | And of course then the more 'useful' courses will have higher percentages of fully subsidised spots. |

Message | Whe agree with the SP. Also whe do not think you can say some jobs or more usefull then others. Artist, policemen, gardenars and politicians, they all play an important role in our pluriform society. If their are shortiges in surton arrias of employment, whe should change the capacity of surton educations. |

Message | However a policeman does not need a university degree in Law enforcement. That is why we have funded Vocational courses and Apprenticeships. However, with the current amendment I am in agreement. I will now take a look at how this will fit in my budget. |
