Message | The regulation we currently have on the internet is already covered by other laws (including "habeas data"). We should clear up the books with this one, and streamline our legal system. |

Message | We already have laws against that: a. The distribution, purchasing and possession of material depicting pornographic acts: Pornography depicting consenting adults is legal for adults. b. The confidentiality of letters and correspondence: The confidentiality of letters is inviolable, but the justice dept. can violate the confidentiality of letters with grounded cause. Since we already allow for the investigation of correspondence (of which the internet is a form of) with grounded cause, we really don't need the second internet-specific law because it is redundant. Hence the streamlining of the legal system argument. --- ooc- I would normally allow this to sit a while longer in waiting for VBS's reply, but I'm leaving town in the morning (it's about 23:00 where I am right now) and won't be back till Monday... |
