Bill: Reducing the hobrazian relationship with Selucia

Details

Submitted by[?]: Hobrazian Peoples Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill proposes the withdrawal from a treaty. It will require half of the legislature to vote in favor[?]. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 2239

Description[?]:

Because of the interest in creating a strong hobrazian nation we should reduce our relationship with the selucian empire. The selucian empire is at now in a war with Kanjor, which will leave a lot of dirt around selucia. The Hobrazian Peoples Party will not let hobrazia be intwirled in such sadness and will not accept war as a solution to political conflicts. Therefore we suggest that our nation define itself as a great nation and start the plans in creating new alliances that will hold.

MessageWe cannot accept this. At no point do any of our treaties force us into a position that will embroil us in any war, nor do they stop us from forging new alliances with other Countries.
Selucia has been a close friend with Hobrazia for many years and we have never had any reason to doubt their intentions. Does the HPP really believe that us withdrawing from friendship and cooperation treaties with one nation would really make any other nation feel that signing new treaties with this Country a popular idea, as we doubt it. If we can't maintain a close long-term friendship with one Country, why should any other believe we would maintain one with them?

MessageVery happy to hear that, but why should we cancel our current treaties with Selucia. There is no advantage to doing this and only places our reputation on the line as if we will not even maintain long held treaties with friends why should any other Countries believe we would maintain treaties with them?
