Proposal[?] to change Closed shops are places of employment where only members of a specific union are allowed to work; union shops can hire non-members, but these have to become members after a certain time; agency shops can hire non-members, who have to pay a fee to cover the unions costs. All three are erected by union agreements. (Only valid if unions are legal)

| Message | This bill will restrict the powers of trade unions, we believe in a national daily working limit set by government, this bill will bring about fairness with regards to banning closed shops as we believe it is discriminatory. We believe in the right to strike but only where it is fair, hence why we are allowing employers to sack workers who go on strike when it is unreasonable. It also bans secondary strike action. The bill follows on from changes made in our first term in office when we imposed restrictions on the power of unions. |
