Bill: Pension funding and budget Question

Details

Submitted by[?]: Mouvement National Démocrate

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 5219

Description[?]:

Mr.Speaker

We would like to discuss with the current government how will they be funding the increase of retirees as a result of their lowering of the retirement age. No new budget or increased funding of the Health and Social Security has been proposed by this new government...

Shall we assume that new retirees shall have lower pensions as the funding is nowhere to be found?

MessageMr. Speaker,

Solidarité proposed raising taxes. This would have been followed by increased funding of Health and Social Security. Sadly raising taxes did not happen. After next elections we will propose raising some taxes again and we hope that this time it is going to pass and we will be able to increase funding of Health and Social Security in our country.

Mathilde Arlette Deroix, Minister of Health and Social Security

MessageMr.Speaker,

We are quite amazed but not surprised by the lack of preparedness of the government concerning such issues as essential as budget proposals and previsional government spending. So the government shall gamble the pensions of the future retirees on their uncertain success in the future....

For the time being, they don't give a damn of the current situation of retirees living under poverty standards blaming the chamber for their failure but still believe they are representing the people and the working class.

MessageMr. Speaker,

we were completely ready. We are completely ready, we have proposed raising taxes and we will do it again. We will raise taxes and we will deliver you can be sure about that. Solidarité is not gambling, we are not gambling. We have put proposals on the table and these proposals were balanced for the good of our country.
It is not fault of Solidarité that only half of the proposals have passed.
If we are in power after this elections you can be sure that certain taxes will be raised and the system completely balanced.

And yes, we represent the working class, the everyday normal people. It is not our fault that the taxes were nor raised and budget of Health and Social Security not raised. It is not our fault.

Vincent Pontois, Minister of Finance

MessageMr.Speaker,

The simple fact that the government didn't feel the need for a debate about the bills for the taxes and the pension age before even thinking about voting is a proof of imcompetence.

When we voted for the new budget, retirement age was never even mentionned as we had balanced our proposals unlike Solidarité led government.

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, it is the responsibility of players to ensure the candidate boxes on their Party Overview screens are filled in with appropriate names. If a player is allotted seats in a Cabinet bill and has not filled in names for the relevant candidate position, then the program will automatically fill in the positions with names which might not necessarily be appropriate for the Cultural Protocols.
