Bill: National Sport Bill

Details

Submitted by[?]: Independent Freedom Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 2241

Description[?]:

A bill to change the national sport from olympic-grade fencing (admittedly a nice sport) to ...sigh...Soccer, or as everyone outside the US calls it..."Football" (I believe Italian speakers call it "Calcio"). This would also of course allow Lodamun to be more active in the various "Soccer/Football" federations with other nations

I will oppose any change.

MessageIFP, yours would be a valid argument if you had some sort of reason for supporting the change.

The way I see it, this will be an irrational, groundless break away from a great Lodamese tradition costing the People unnecessary government funds.

MessageWhy does it have to be such a main stream sport? Honestly football isn't really very inventive, now is it? Besides fencing is a nice and honourable sport backed by the people of lodamun. There is no good reason to change the national sport. Let's forget this world cup craze.

Random fact: Particracy does not allow real-life brand names (eg. Coca Cola, McDonalds, Microsoft). However, in the case of military equipment brand names it is permitted to use simple number-letter combinations (eg. T-90 and F-22) borrowed from real life, and also simple generic names, like those of animals (eg. Leopard and Jaguar).
