Bill: Constitutional & Institutional changes

Details

Submitted by[?]: FDK_

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 5219

Description[?]:

"After a landslide victory that is giving us a more than 2/3 majority in the parliament, the message of the people is clear; FDK government must move on with radical changes in the way that this country is governed. Hopefully, ARIZA - despite having been very inactive in the parliamentary procedures lately - will support these changes as it is time for the country to leave this far left ARIZA-based state behind forever.
After these changes, I am announcing that this will be last term in office. Having reached 72 years old, 29 years as Leader of FDK and more than 12 years as Prime Minister of Kalopia, I believe it is time for the party and the country to be lead by someone younger. I trust that the people of FDK will make the right choice."
- Prime Minister Periklis Niarchos

MessageAfter the change of the structure of the political system, the honorary Triarchs Katerina Economidi, Ilir Safaj & Mustafa Ahmad will continue to serve as Heads of State, until the next election in which people will have the chance elect their President. Nevertheless, we would like to thank our Triarchs for serving the country with higher sense of patriotic responsibility.

MessageAs ARIZA has stated previously, our party cannot and will never support a decrease in the number of seats of this Parliament. Everything else can be debated and discussed, but the issue of parliamentary seats is not a debate for us. It is a matter of representation of our citizens, and by reducing the number of seats, we reduce the power of our citizens.
Therefore, ARIZA will vote against this Constitutional Bill, while we will respect the decision made by this Parliament regarding the conformation of our Head of State, as we thank everyone that has served faithfully and loyally to thsi nation.
