| Mr President, the c ivil war in Kundrati ended with a victory for the legitimate government which we have supported. The missions in Kundrati and Malivia, however, stretched at the maximum our capabilities, For this reason the Government wishes to allocate new resources each year for the next decade in order to: - develop and build 1 or 2 nuclear aircraft carrier, which project will be based on the very successful Fortezza-Class with integrated the best of cutting-edge technologies. - develop and build 4 Landing LPD for the carrying of troops, vehicles and helycopters. - develop and build a new Main Battle Tank to replace the ones currently still active into our armoured cavalry brigates of the Army. Four cavalry brigates will be equiped with the new MBT, the others to be produced will be used into the military schools and training centers for training while the other will be kept in strategical reserve. - develop and build in join-venture with Kafuristan a new reconaissance/anti-submarine warfare aicraft. - develop and build a new large transport aircraft for the Air Force and the Army. - financing a bid for the design of a new attack helicopter to be optinally chosen by the Army to replace the current attack helicopters in service. - creation of a Interforces Sea Projection Force (Forza di Proiezione Marina Interforze - FOPROMARIN), made up of units and vehicles from the Navy and the Army. The FOPROMARIN will group the Amphibious Brigates of the Navy and of the Army, the landing craft division of the Navy and the heliassault wing of the Navy. The FOPROMARIN will be under the command of the rearadmiral already commanding the amphibious forces of the Navy and it will depend by the Joint Operations Central Comman (Comando Centrale Operazioni Interforze - COCOI). |
