Details

Submitted by[?]: Democratic Party of Lodamun

Description[?]:

Upon passage this legislation will confirm the cultural identity of Lodamun as defined here:
http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=684532

==OVERVIEW==
Lodamun is a culturally diverse nation borne out of the migrations of numerous peoples from the Artanian and Dovanian continents as well as from neighbouring Seleyan nations. Similar to its neighbours Baltusia (Mid-Atlantic American), Kalistan (West Coast American/Californian) and Likatonia (Dixie American/Southerner), Lodamun is based on a cultural region of the USA, primarily that of New England.

==ETHNICITY==
Lodamun is a diverse nation with a history of economic power and trade that has been largely open to immigration. To the east of Seleya, there are the Gao-Showan (RL: Asian) peoples in Dovani and Indrala who have migrated to our eastern seaboard in large numbers. The Native Mashcara (RL: Native Americans) have a historic presence and are actually the second-largest ethnicity inner Lodamun. The Pensio (RL: Hispanics) are a mixed-race legacy of historical Egelion-speaking settlement in Seleya, mixing with the native Mashcara population. Recent migration from Gaduridos and Tukarali has increased their numbers. There is a large mixed-race population given the diversity of the nation and smaller populations of people from other continents such as Majatra. Finally, Whites/Artanians (RL: European Americans) have been a dominant group in Northern Seleya (as they are in Likatonia, Baltusia and Kalistan, and of course in Valruzia). With diverse origins (Luthorian/Hulstrian/Dolgarian/Valruzian etc), over the centuries they have largely merged as a single group to form White Lodamese.

» White/Artanian Lodamese (White Americans) - 49.5%
-- Luthoro-Lodamese (English-American/Colonial-American/New Englander) - 20.5%
-- Hulstrian-Lodamese (Austrian-American) - 11%

» Other (Other) - 2.5%

==Religion==

Lodamun has a varied and interesting religious history, with state Lodamese Nationalism and a plethora of Pagan religions having historic prominence. With immigration, other faiths have been brought in. Hosianism has had a historic presence, is dominant in our neighbours and has been the official religion since 5160 (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=677160) with special privileges. Lodamun has a Hosian plurality with large numbers of other faiths and a large community of non-believers.

NOTE: This cultural protocol has been informed by and borrows many parts of the draft cultural protocol made by Redneck20 (Grand Republican Party) (https://bit.ly/3S55KrT). It represents an alteration of the CP to centre Lodamun's base inspiration as that of New England. I, the author of this CP do not claim credit for the work done by Redneck20 and remain forever grateful for their work.
