Message | Mr. Speaker, I rise today to speak out against the proposed change to the government's position on crossdressing policy. As it stands, crossdressing is prohibited by the state, and this proposal seeks to devolve the decision-making power to local governments, allowing them to determine the legality of crossdressing. I strongly believe that this proposal is not only discriminatory but also a step backward in terms of human rights and equality. Crossdressing is a form of self-expression, and every individual has the right to express themselves freely, without fear of persecution or discrimination. It is a personal choice and should not be dictated by the government or local authorities. Moreover, this proposal ignores the fact that crossdressing has a long and rich history, from ancient cultures to modern-day fashion. It is not a new trend or a passing fad but a legitimate form of artistic expression and identity. By devolving the decision-making power to local governments, we risk creating a patchwork of different laws and regulations across the country, leading to confusion and inconsistency. It also creates the potential for discrimination against individuals based on where they live and the local government's attitudes towards crossdressing. In conclusion, Mr. Speaker, I urge all members of parliament to reject this proposal and instead work towards creating a society where individuals can express themselves freely, without fear of discrimination or persecution. Thank you. Edward Jagger, MP. |

Message | Mr Speaker, I think that what my Right Honourable colleague is suggesting is that, while this bill is a step in the right direction, it does not go far enough, not that the LSP is happy with the current policy. Clarence Vaughn MP |
