MessageLeave the option open. I am almost always opposed to capital punishment, but there are cases where it is just the only option. consider me as close to supporting this as possible, without actually supporting it.

MessageThe Death Penalty is a radical extreme, but in some cases it is the only punishment fitting of the crimes. We will not vote for taking it down.

MessageSandra Desjardines: No justice system is perfect, not even our own. Which means that if the death penalty is applied, innocent men will die. If an innocent man dies because of our need for retribution, then we cannot call ourselves a civilised nation.

MessageBut if we let mass murderers, terrroists, and men who commit GENOCIDE free, is that justice? If we let them free, we cannot call ourselves civilised.

After all, it takes DECADES before a person is usually killed. We believe that is more than enugh time to see if that person is truly guilty or not.

Messagethe NDLP brings up a good point. it was a good enough point to sway me the extra inch and a half needed to swing my vote. not that it affects the outcome, but it's the principle of the thing that matters

Messageoh and TIP: not executing them is not the same as letting them walk free. Life imprisonment is good enough for me. I don't like exacting revenge, because that makes me no better than them. The purpose of the penal system is to ensure that they do not do it again. Life imprisonment accomplishes that

MessageDo you seriously think that they will stop plotting when they are in jail? You surprise me with your ignorance. If some terrorist-leader is thrown in jail, he will be broken out. As long as they live, they will plot. As long as they plot, we will not be safe.

Random fact: Voters have an extra appreciation for bills that actually get passed, so if you want to maximally take profit from your votes, make sure you compromise with others.
