Bill: Bill CCA-5: Termination of the "Commonwealth" Experiment Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Country City Alliance

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 5316

Description[?]:

When the "Labour" Party and Monarchist Party both backed a restoration of the Commonwealth, it was expected there would be popular support both politically and from the general population. However, the restoration has failed to be fully implemented, and instead we are left still with Presidential elections for a hereditary position, a collapse Monarchist Party who could not deal with their own failures, and an incredibly upset population. Since the restoration, our entire government system has come to a halt, and barely any legislation has passed amid the confusion on if the Commonwealth system would be properly implemented, or if we were doomed to a state of limbo. This bill is created by a party that recognises its mistakes in supporting the restoration, and we wish to see the termination of this experiment and a return to the Republican system of government, as have been the cries of the many protestors over the last few years.

MessageMr. Speaker,

We are extremely delighted to see the CCA support the restoration of the Republic. Clearly, replacing our democratically elected head of state by an unelected monarch was a bad idea that was even more badly implemented. As of right now, we have only little in terms of constitution and the separation of power between the monarch, the Prime Minister and the ''President of the Commonwealth'' are loosely defined.

It's obvious that we need to go back to the Federal Republic, may it be only for the sake of having a stable and well defined form of government. Of course, if we are to completely change our form of government, we would strongly advise to make it within a way more detailed bill. This bill should contain lengthy provision so that we can clearly define under what frame we will operate.

MessageMr Speaker,

Absolutely scandalous is this piece of legislation, which would see our nation's great institution hollowed out, left weak and corrupt. Our beloved monarchy symbolises everything that is great and decent about this country. Should the one nation Conservative and Royalist party ever become a government, no such dangerous and seditious bill will ever pass. The people of Hutori can be assured of that. In any case, given the National Progress Party's absence from the chamber in recent days, the tabloids are awash with speculation they are set to be hit by a series of scandals, it seems as though our monarch has nothing to fear for it will be merely the CCA tasked with going forward with such an agenda.

MessageMr. Speaker,

The re-establishment of the monarchy was built on lies in order to prop up an elitist head of state position so certain political parties could have anti-democratic influence in the nation, we request members support this emergency vote to abolish the Monarchy and save our democracy, the people of Hutori depend on it.
