Bill: Proposed Sale of the HBC

Details

Submitted by[?]: Conservative Party of Hutori

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 5311

Description[?]:

The HBC's numbers are in decline, its radio and television stations are so bereft of decent content in an era of online media streaming services and podcasts, viewers and listeners are preferring to go elsewhere. Perhaps the sale of the HBC would encourage its bureaucrats to be more competitive, attracting better staff, paying them competitive salaries.

MessageMr. Speaker

The HBC is one of our pillars of democracy, it is unbiased and publicly funded, and serves in the interests of our people. We should ensure it remains alive and well so that it can continue to be a guiding light in a modern world full of disinformation. We are strongly against the sale of the HBC.
