Message | why is helping people ,who are in a vegetable state, or people who are going to die in a short period, and in will suffer a lot in that process, to die "protecting citizens" ? Do they have anything to live for? You only HELP those people by letting them die. It is even better for the relatives, they can remember their loved ones like they used to remember them, you don't want relatives to have to watch someone dieing with a lot of pain. Euthanasia is difficult, but people who choose for this know they really want it. It is difficult to help people by letting them die. Seeing this, and letting it happen is a step forward in civilization. |

Message | allowing euthanasia is a kind of defacto way of giving the state the power to decide who lives and who dies, i am quite sure that if i had proposed a change to the death penalty regulation in Lodamun there would have been something of an uproar, trying to provide justification based on the relatives being able to deal with it is somewhat hypocritical as well, if someone was found guilty of murder, it would most likely be easier for the victims family to deal with it too if they quilty party was sentenced to the death penalty. beside the current law does not allow those in a "vegetable" state to die any way, if you note it requires the patient to agree as well, see the problem with that argument. |

Message | there is no option for vegetable patients, "with consent from the patient " can be interpreted as "with consent from the patient or from close relatives in the case that the patient is not able, and will not be able to decide over their own life".. And how does euthanasia give the state the power to decide who lives and who dies? People can care for themselves, they choose for themselves..if they want to live, they'll live. If they want to die if they are incurable ill, they can, consulting the treating docter. The docter won't allow it if they are not incurable. |
