MessageA conservative going along with this crazy plan?
...yes!

Here are our reasons:
1. We help reduce AIDS by requiring condom use and monthly testing
2. We keep minors out of the "profession"
3. We keep prostitution off the streets and in designated adult entertainment districts
4. We tax not only the "services provided" but also the incomes of said prostitutes

MessageCorrect
this is a very liberal proposal, I am supposedly conservative and one would think I would strongly oppose this bill but I oddly support it!

MessageOpposed. This is nothing but an exploitation of women and it needs to stay banned. Not only that, it would not decrease stds but actually increase it. No. Absolutely not.

On top of that, it goes against the moral fabric of this nation.

MessageIts exploitation. I'm ashamed of the delegates here who support the exploitation of women.

MessageSuch narrow minded people,
taking care of the general population by keeping track of STD's and doing something to prevent their spread, to keep a faithful eye on the well being of the women who will take part in this regardless of it's legality. And why is this explotation of women when there may be men involved in this activity as well, gigolo's and gay prostitutes do also exist. Explotation is taking advantage of someone, we are not taking advantage of anyone here, we provide a healthier alternative to an already dangerous profession, we keep children off the streets, we keep prostitutes safe from being beaten up and takien advantage of by their pimps, we protect the population, we clean up the streets, we gain a new tax base, no
I'm sorry but to do nothing is exploting our women
to do nothing is to support children prostitution and to support the brutalizing of the current prostitutes.

Rethink your stance, explain how this "exploits" women in any way
throwing your buzz words around just doesn't cut it now does it?

Oh, and increasing STD's how so?
By legalizing and monitoring this we take them off the streets and we REQUIRE the use of condoms (something not always done now) we REQUIRE testing every month,. How does this lead to anything but a decrease? because it's legal, suddenly everyone will run to a brothel? No, the numbers will remain fairly consistant with maybe a very SLIGHT increase but with the added security measures, STD's WILL drop.
Please state why you feel they will increase? Again, buzz words don't cut it my friends.

MessageFC, I wouldn't go pissing off the Patriot Party. Believe me. She gets irrate when people try to push her around.

I also oppose this bill for the simple reason that 1) it does go against the morality of this nation and 2) it will have a tendency to destroy families.

Messagelet her get pissed off if that turns her on.
I can appreciate going against the morality of the nation as a reason to oppose the bill, as a conservative (middle of the road conservatives seem almost liberla in this state) this really pushes me into uncharted waters that I do not agree with on a personal level. However, the benefits that we can get both economically and medically outweigh the whole morlaity issue.

As far as destroying families, how so?
Because it is made legal does this somehow make it morally acceptable? Does the legality of this make it suddenly ok for families to take part in? All we are doing is moving this from the streets and alleys and into designated areas, we are also taking children out of it, we are collecting taxes from it, we are helping to reduce diseases. How is the family destroyed? If we were to allow gay marriage, does that mean we will have more gay people? No, if the person is going to take advantage of these "services" he will find it regardless of legality.

I am in no way endorsing prostitution, it is morally wrong
but I also know what the alternatives are and we can't live with those dangers in name of "morality" It is equally morally reprehesible to do nothing as we currently do. Disease, child prostitution, Pimp beatings.... this is not acceptable and the lesser of two evils is to clean it up as best we can.
