Message | I'll summarize why I proposed this bill: 1 - If persons are considered adults at the age of 18, we feel that the age until which students are required to be educated should also be 18. 2 - We should lower that age to 18 and give students the choice whether they want to study further (at a university or something like that). We shouldn't force people to follow higher education if they don't want to or don't need it. 3 - Many jobs don't require students to go to school until they're 21 before they graduate. 4 - And if they feel they haven't studied enough or want to take additional classes after having graduated they can always follow additional courses while having a full-time job. 5 - Compulsory education until the age of 21 reduces the number of young people on the job market and could potentially damage certain sectors. |

Message | I agree with you on this one. As soon as somebody is considered an adult by the law, they must have jurisdiction over their own lives, and since 18 year old Rutanians are considered adults, forcing them to remain in school is both immoral and wasteful of government resources. I'm all for this bill, and would even support further relaxation of the law in question, as the Conservatives have already suggested. |

Message | The reason it was 21 was because the legal age was to be 21....it was never changed when it the legal age change thing failed |
