Message | Prisoners should pay for the full value of their detention. This will save on the budget as well as increase the overall economy and fulfil our moral need to educate prisoners ready for release. Sterling initiative! |

Message | lol who says he isnt serious , as for the PPP its still slavery and regardless looking at it practically prison labour either undercuts normal labour and costs jobs or it ends up doing something so pointless it cant be considered cost effective. voluntary paid prison labour avoids slavery and the problems discussed previously whilst aiding in rehabilitation saving even more money , life isnt about assigning blame and dishing out punishment. |
Date | 21:39:13, June 23, 2005 CET | From | Communist Party of Endralon | To | Debating the Prisoners repay debt to society |
Message | The MLC makes very good points. Besides being inhumane (as slavery always is), forcing prisoners to work also reduces the cost of labour and costs jobs - after all, why hire a regular worker when you can get a prisoner to do the job for free? |
