Bill: Legalize private radio
Details
Submitted by[?]: Patriotic Libertarian Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 2071
Description[?]:
We need free media - it's the basis of democracy. Therefore I'd like to suggest a compromise for the socialists - leave a subsized national TV and radio station and allow all other private ones to work. |

Message | I'm not against free private radio, if it was in the constraints of possible proposals I would but I dont think radio should be funded by the private sector with adverts etc , the state should provide directly funded large scale radio and provide funding for hobbyist radio the only things we need to avoid are state controlled radio and corporately controlled radio. |

Message | We HAVE free media and we HAVE free speech. Government censorship of the media was absolutely banned a long time ago. Besides, how exactly does private radio count as "free speech"? Are you suggesting that ANYONE could start his own private radio station? Please... Few people have the means to create a radio station. Thus private radio is not free speech, it is a privilege for the wealthy. |

Message | damn, don't you know you don't need much to start a local radio? just a garage and a simple radio... |
