Message | Both the CCF and the CNT/AFL voluntarily withdrew from the previous cabinet proposal, as allowed by the ICA's opt-out clause. As such, the ASP and the TiC Party received the two open portfolios. |
Date | 10:17:18, June 23, 2005 CET | From | National People's Gang | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of September 2070 |
Message | Although our representation is below the simple threshold for a seat, we are planning to take up this offer in order to balance the cabinet. |

Message | ooooh I get a spot... |
Date | 18:47:49, June 23, 2005 CET | From | Adam Smith Party | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of September 2070 |
Message | Although we find our inclusion alittle premature, we will accept if that is the will of the parliament. |
Date | 19:09:51, June 23, 2005 CET | From | Cooperative Commonwealth Federation | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of September 2070 |
Message | The radical right-wing policies of the ASP are driving policy, so they may as well be in cabinet, as we suggested in the earlier proposal. We congratulate President-Councillor Burke once again, and plan to undertake constructive opposition and to defend Lodaun's legacy of progressive legislation. We hope the Council will seek an inclusive middle path in policy, just as it has done in cabinet-making. |
Date | 20:11:24, June 23, 2005 CET | From | Adam Smith Party | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of September 2070 |
Message | We are more than a little confused by the declaration from the CFC-Grrens in two respects. Firstly, we are not radically right wing. We are a little to the right of centre that is all. Secondly how is it that a minority party, with 10 elected representatives can be "driving policy"? |
Date | 20:28:31, June 23, 2005 CET | From | Cooperative Commonwealth Federation | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of September 2070 |
Message | The forcible closure of all public schools is a radical right-wing stance: making educational policy with a neutron bomb. Secondly, a party can create and pass legislation (that is to say, drive a policy agenda) even with small numbers. No one could claim the SAP is driving a policy agenda, even with all its seats. Also: CCF, not CFC, please. CFC emissions are contrary to our party policy. ;) |
Date | 20:49:35, June 23, 2005 CET | From | Adam Smith Party | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of September 2070 |
Message | The removal of government directives in education is not right wing. It is anti authoritarian. We proposed using vouchers to fund schooling for those that could not otherwise afford it, again not a right wing policy. We apologize for our error with your acronym. It is CCF and no slur was intended. |
Date | 21:36:36, June 23, 2005 CET | From | CNT/AFL | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of September 2070 |
Message | Since when has authoritarianism had anything to do with the economic right? |
Date | 21:39:24, June 23, 2005 CET | From | Adam Smith Party | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of September 2070 |
Message | It does not, nor has it ever. Why the question? I said the bill was anti authoritarian not right wing. What did you fail to understand, or were you posting the truth whilst attempting to be sarcastic? |
Date | 23:00:30, June 23, 2005 CET | From | CNT/AFL | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of September 2070 |
Message | You claimed you were not radically right wing, yet every single bill you have proposed, not to mention the TiC bills you supported, is radically right wing. |
Date | 00:21:20, June 24, 2005 CET | From | Adam Smith Party | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of September 2070 |
Message | There is then a leftist view of slightly right of centre that sees it as radically right wing. This is not suprising really, as we tend to see left of centre policies as being verging on the communist. Radically right wing would be to require the singing of the national anthem every morning, to equip the police as the military, to close our borders, to refuse all internatinal assistance etc. None of which have we done or suggested. All we are doing is requiring that the government remains out of issues that are not its concern and trying to maximise the freedom of choice given to our citizens. This is libertarian on the authoritarian - libertarian scale but central on the left - right scale. We do wish to provide education for all, just with all having a choice in what type of education they receive. Where, exactly, have we actd on the extreme right platform? |
