Message | I'm opposed to this. This is up to individual schools. If people want to pray at a religious school, so be it. If people don't want their children to pray at school, they can send them to one that doesn't. |

Message | This is not a free thought bill, but restricting and sidelining one form of thought: religious, in favour of another: secularism. |

Message | This bill is about giving children the freedom to choose rather than be told what to believe by their teachers, incidentally religious schools are currently illegal (it's a new option for legislation) |

Message | I am for. While the Freedom Party supports freedom of religion, it should not be up to the school to force religious beliefs upon children. |

Message | How many times do we need to repeat this? THEY HAVE THE CHOICE WHETHER THEY WANT TO PRAY OR NOT! And praying isn't quite forcing religious beliefs on people anyway. |

Message | Ok, but seriously. It says "teacher-led". In other words, an employee of the state is leading their pupils in a prayer. This is different than allowing children to pray on their own, or having ministers or what have you come in, in order to serve the needs of all different faiths. These prayers are being led by a person with authority, who is employed by the state. This is a blatant violation of the separation of church and state. |

Message | It's not neccessaraly state schools that do it - indeed there are probably very few. And it is easy to abstain. |
