Bill: Ending Discrimination Bill
Details
Submitted by[?]: Gnazenal Phr'unt
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: October 2258
Description[?]:
Positive discrimination is still discrimination and as such should be discouraged. Furthermore it makes little sense to use positive discrimination to address past wrongs. The members of the current generation who lose out because of positive discrimination are not responsible for the actions of their ancestors, and therefore should not be punished for those actions. Positive discrimination also allows underqualified persons to get to positions they should not be able to achieve in a fair system. However we argue that this matter should be devolved to local communities, and if, for some reason, a, for example, black community wishes to repress the non-blacks within its midst, then they would eb allowed to carry out their racism. The current policy is one of the few bad things the ALF/LCP have achieved. |
Proposals

Message | Why? If federal government regulates, then hiring policies would change every time there is a new government. Local government tends to be more stable, thus there is a consistent approach. |

Message | the BPP would agree with ositive disrimination but instead of the local government setting hiring policy we think the government should not regulate hiring policies. |

Message | Actually i think it should be federally regulated for stability reasons. So Joe Suburbanite from the WPP can't have a petition passed banning blacks or immigrants from working. |

Message | Bearing in mind that the WPP are actually in the Federal Government, your last point isn't entirely accurate, and presumes that the Trade and Industry Minister isn't the WPP Sam Walton. |

Message | I must admit I entirely agree with the socialists on this one..federal government is more stable than local government and positive discrimination is a joke. All men are free under the law |
