Bill: A Resolution for the Nomenclature of Bills

Details

Submitted by[?]: Páirtí Sóisialach

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 2257

Description[?]:

This resolution attempts to unify and streamline the naming of bills. This is completely voluntary, but I would like to have an established precedent on the subject. In accordance with this resolution, the majority party has the right to name it proposals 'acts' as they are almost certain of approval. Other parties may only style their proposals 'bills'. The party of the prime minister pre-initials its legislation with 'GR', meaning 'government resolution'. Other parties use their party abbreviation: C&U, DLF, NCP, TSA, FLU. The Conservative and Unionist Party seeks support on this resolution.

MessageWe'd like to see something like this, but won't agree to anything until we can have a longer discussion on this topic. Perhaps next term's four year term?

MessageThis will be implemented in the interim. It is a resolution and ergo completely voluntary, however, I would appreciate it if the DLF were to adopt this resolution for the time being.

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation.

Random quote: "A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government." - George Washington
