Bill: Gambling Devolution Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: National Centrist Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: May 2073
Description[?]:
It is hereby established that it is the right of Prefecturial governments to legalize or criminalize gambling as they see fit. There are numerous qualms taken about legalized gambling. Legalizing it improves tourism, but gambling houses increase crime and exacerbate local poverty - two effects that occur for the same reason, as people attempt to beat the odds and fail. People from all sorts of moral backgrounds oppose it; it can be legitimately opposed for religious, economic, or compassionate reasons. We should bring this decision closer to the people. In places where gambling is supported, then let it flourish. In places where the local populace dislike it, then let it wither and die rather than imposing itself upon them. |
Proposals

Message | Social-G believes gambling should meet standards and national regulations in order to control them. Leaving the decission up to local governments doesn't stop gamblers from moving around the country in order to proceed with their activities. We are supporters to keep it a national affair and legal all over the country in order to control the gamblingbusiness. As a social party we would propose to set up a commission to investigate the gambling activities of individuals, in order to prevent social disasters. |
