Debate
These messages have been posted to debate on this bill:

Message | It actually harms innovation by removing any private incentive to innovate. Patents should be short-term and watertight, a second-best solution to the problems creators face, so we won't support this. |

Message | We won't support either, unless the SSPP will compromise with us in opposing any changes to our current Agriculture policy. Then we would support. We oppose this measure because while we seek to create a cooperative commonwealth, we do not want a collective commonwealth. In other words, our people should work together, but innovation must be rewarded with financial security. Your creations are your creations. |

Message | yet in this time of the internet, we have the one single greatest creation, where everyone can have access to the great stockpile of information and digital services that they need. This can be distributed freely to everyone... Only the huge corporations are stopping it.. All we want is to get rid of the middle man... I would disagree with harming innovation... Have a look at say any software or hardware producer. They only produce a new product when someone outdoes them... Computer companies make their products obsolete within a few years so that consimers will buy their new product. If every company was to bring out the same product, then others would need to innovate to be rewarded in the short term at least.... |

Message | Again, we'll support if you oppose any change to our agriculture policies and to democratic ownership of industry. Generally, we're supportive of cooperation and democratic ownership, but not the rights of the commons, etc. Especially in art and entertainment, often creativity is greatly damaged by basically stealing someone else's ideas and selling them as though you put effort into them. Less sure on the tech front. |
