Message | We believe that the teaching of sexual education is not up to the governent, but up to the parent's of the child. Also, Abortion should be allowed only in medical situations. You are taking away what will, one day, be a human life. Yes, it is not yet a human life, but unless the parent of the unborn child is at risk, they should have the child. They can give it up for adoption, but they shouldn't abort the child. (Of course, this does not count "day after" pills as abortion.) |

Message | I approve this bill, it is a good strating point although in the future it would be preferable to allow allow abortion at any point as it is the women's choice as to what to do with her unborn child. |

Message | Sent to a vote. If the LP would like to continue along the path that Article 1 takes after this bill has passed, they certainly have the discretion to do so |

Message | Andrew McInally: I am not entirely sure that allowing abortion at any point is a sensible way to continue. Whilst I am fine with first-trimester abortions, as it seems that through medical advice says that at this point there is no sentience within the fetus, I have ethical concerns with the abortion of a foetus that is past the time when a foetus gains self-awareness. If a woman wishes to abort, she has plenty of time to do so in the first trimester. Abortions, in my view, should be safe, legal, and rare. Regardless, I have no qualms against this Bill, only on it going further. |
