Bill: Cannabis for Medicinal Purposes Act 2272

Details

Submitted by[?]: Democratic Liberal Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 2272

Description[?]:

Currently, the use of cannabis for recreational purposes is totally unregulated yet the use of cannabis for medecinal purposes can be regulated by local governments. This means in certain places people can use cannabis for any reason other than pain relief. Clearly this is insane and this bill corrects this.

MessageCannabies for medical purposes arent necessarily legal, that decision is left to the local government.
Which is best given its controversial nature.

MessageYes I know that. Cannabis for RECREATIONAL purposes -is- legal - check the law. It's crazy that you can use it to get high but not to ease pain. The current situation is insane.

MessageIt isnt legal as such, there just doesnt exist any law making it legal or illegal, which I have been trying to change for some time, but even if we say that mean it is legal (which it certainly does not mean) is it not the same as allowing cannabis for medical use, as that means the hospital will pay for it.

MessageThe law we have no ("No laws dictating what people can put in their bodies) means everything's legal.

If, say, we were to have 'The use of cannabis is legal.' that means -only- cannabis is legal and all other drugs are illegal.

If we had 'All naturally occuring drugs are legal' it would mean artificial drugs are illegal.

Any change of the law would make it more stringent.

Random fact: Parties have the ability to endorse another party's candidate for the Head of State election (if there is one). This adds a strategic element to the elections.
