Bill: CA: Military Values
Details
Submitted by[?]: Conservative Popular Alliance
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 2273
Description[?]:
Homosexuality is incompatible with military service. The presence in the military environment of persons who engage in homosexual conduct or who, by their statements, demonstrate a propensity to engage in homosexual conduct, seriously impairs the accomplishment of the military mission. The presence of such members adversely affects the ability of the armed forces to maintain discipline, good order, and morale; to foster mutual trust and confidence among service members; to insure the integrity of the system of rank and command; to facilitate assignment and worldwide deployment of service members who frequently must live and work in close conditions affording minimal privacy; to recruit and retain members of the armed forces; to maintain the public acceptability of military service; and to prevent breaches of security. |
Proposals
Article 1

Old value:: Homosexuality is allowed in the military.
Current: Homosexuality is allowed in the military.
Proposed: Open homosexuality is not tolerated in the military. The military has a "don't ask, don't tell" policy.

Message | Homosexuals have as much right as any to partake in military service and besides, history shows that the reverse of what you argue is true. The ancient Greeks found that a man was more likely to fight for his sexual partner than for his brother in arms and thus encouraged it in their armies. Furthermore, the segregation from the rest of society until being suddenly plunged back into it after a war often leads to a population surge once soldiers are reunited with their girlfriends/wives which in the case of homosexuals does not occur and a population explosion is averted. |

Message | So basically you are against this as it will prevent your plans for population control? Which in itself says a little about your human rights record. Besites that are you actually convinced that in a military company is it more important to fight for "partner" then the nation? Not only is this just immoral but it is also historic incorrect. Your comparison to the Ancient greek does not make any solid argument at all, and if it did would the conclusion still be scary or irrational. |
