Message | How does Article 2 promote the 'welfare of all Luthorians without regard to status, wealth, gender, race or creed'? if you leave it up to local governments, isn't it possible, nay: likely, that they will enact something that discriminates against a group of people? If number two is eliminated (or changed to 'government opens marrige to consenting adults') i will be for it. as it is now, i will not |

Message | While we believe that religious groups can choose who they allow to marry(I.E. take vows), wew believe that CIVIL UNIONS are fine and are up to the state. Marriage, however, is something up to the religion. |

Message | Oh, and we are against the use of Cannabis for pain-relief. Use morphine if you must, or THC, but not cannabis itself. |

Message | so you say that athiests are not allowed to marry? what if a religion started that allowed gays to marry, would you support that? if a preist or rabbi went against his faith to let gays marry, would you support that? why not just open it to everyone? it's the only fair way to do this. |

Message | But you are violating the rights of the religous institutions! They are NOT part of the state(which you don't seem to grasp), and must be allowed to do what they wish(short of genocide, of course). If a religion started that stated that it would marry gays GREAT! All the much better! Besides, Atheists don't belong to churches per se, so they won't be affected by this. At all. |

Message | no, no, no. you said "we believe that religious groups can choose who they allow to marry." that means that atheists cannot marry. GJ on that one. |

Message | Religious groups can choose who THEY allow to marry. As in who they allow to marry IN THEIR GROUP. If the atheist group decides to let anyone marry, then they can marry! It's as easy as that! (Although I can see it's really confusing. Seeing how Atheists don't belong to a religious group... A-ha! I have an Idea!) |
