Message | We think that although nuclear power can be beneficial if the country needs fast energy, it pollutes the environment heavily and causes cancer in those who work at nuclear power plants; thus, we think it is best avoided. |

Message | Since pollution from coal burning is estimated to be causing 10,000 deaths per year, there would have to be 25 melt-downs each year for nuclear power to be as dangerous as coal burning. http://72.14.209.104/search?q=cache:cSrIXE7-UVQJ:physics.isu.edu/radinf/np-risk.htm+nuclear+power+pollution&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=1&client=firefox-a |

Message | We are not sure we see the difference between the old and new policies - government taking no position versus local government deciding! Is the former meant to imply that neither local nor central government take a position? We don't approve of either the existing or proposed policy. We believe the government should oppose nuclear power. Although we favour increasing local government rights where possible and appropriate, we don't think this kind of decision belongs in local government hands. |
