Message | Libertarians against homosexuals? The ICP welcomes diversity and frankly its not our or the state's business! |

Message | A marriage should have just one simple privilage - having or adopting children. I can't give this privilage to homos. When there are no other privilages there's no reason for civil marriages for gays. |

Message | There are lots of privileges associated with marriage, including in the tax system, pensions, and not least being accepted by everyone as a couple. Sexuality is not a matter for the state where it does people no harm. If you are objecting to adoption by gay parents, then this is another issue. But one the ICP will probably also differ with you. |

Message | But I want a flat tax with no privilages for couples, and a private pension system that is an individual matter. Damn, I'm much more conservative than you ;) |

Message | lol I'm actually starting to kinda like ICP which is strange because in the past I've had to side with libertarian parties to beat conservative bills , but oh well ICP your my favourite capitalist pig ^^. Anyway as to the bill , I don't feel the government should be involved in marraige at all any desired legal effects should be seperated from the act as marriage is irrelevant to all those but the parties involved , we should neither force religious institutions to accept marriages nor forcefully invalidate any type of marriage individuals may wish to enter into , benefits should be tied to dependants and income not marrital status anyway. As for adoption it should be tied to the ability to suitably care for the child nothing else , this should be looked at case by case if it seems a homosexual couple can provide the stability and nurturing environment required they should not be ruled out by default , your average heterosexual parent will I'm sure be an order of magnitude worse than the height of homosexual parenting , why make such arbitratry exclusions. |

Message | Like how "liberal" has so many meanings, "conservative" means to me being cautious and trying to keep reason in mind when deciding on things. As for being your least hated capitalist running-dog pig, well that's certainly an honour! ;) |

Random fact: When it comes to creating a Cultural Protocol in a Culturally Open nation, players are not necessarily required to provide a plausible backstory for how the nation's cultural background developed. However, the provision of a plausible backstory may be a factor in whether Moderation approves the Cultural Protocol if players in surrounding nations question its appropriateness for their region of the game map. |
