MessageI suggest we keep it legal, but get it registered and make a prerequisite of having a casino to give a certain amount of their profit every year to gambling addiction centres etc. Therefore I can still play a friendly game of poker with my friends and not get arrested for it.

MessageI would additionally propose that gambling is restricted to dedicated gambling centres such as casinos, so no more poker machines in pubs and bars, praying on opportunists. Games amongst clientelle is allowed everywhere, but not on an institutionalised basis.

MessageWell online you have to have a credit card so only one credit card per person can be admitted and only a set amount could be taken from that card to prevent addiction.

MessageIf we get the Internal Affairs ministry, when the current cabinet proposal goes through, we would encourage police to ignore or overlook fair private games ... this is aimed at gambling machines, casinos that take house cuts, etc.

MessageIn other words bent coppers.
No. This would be a logistical nightmare. I'm all for ensuring access to helplines etc are readily available, but banning everything from the Gee-Gees to fruit machines, pub machines all the way up to casinoes would cause uproar and be useless to try to pass. Especially with the private gaming bending.

MessageUnder new administration, we understand that most would be better off working rather than pouring money into private corporations. For.
