Message | We can't see any logical reason for any of these modifications to be implemented and we assume that neither can the Union Party as they have provided no reasoning beyond the fact that they wish to change the laws that have governed this Country well for so long. |
Date | 21:04:52, September 09, 2006 CET | From | Union Party | To | Debating the The Union Party Proposal II |
Message | We seek a government that is more resonant with a just, intelligent, and righteous society is all. The government of Hobrazia should not be a road block to the citizens of our nation. |

Message | In which case we fail to understand the reasoning behind any of the changes attempting to be made in this bill. Article 1 makes it easier to adopt, good, but it fails to take into account the dangers of allowing anyone to adopt without proper checks and balances. Article 2 takes away citizens rights to own businesses and forces them to work for the government. Article 3 does the same as article 2. Article 4 reduces the security of the citizens whilst also removing the most efficient way of guaranteeing customer protection, through the ability to secure ones identity without easier theft, and also removes the most efficient way of guaranteeing the purchase of age related commodities. Article 5 reduces the age at which people can purchase age restricted goods and brings people are aren't anywhere near fully matured, mentally or physically, into a position that would force them to act in a more mature way without any protection. Article 6 makes the important work that medical practitioners do even more problematic as they are constantly not just under pressure through the type of work they are doing but also under pressure that any move they make could well leave them open to the destruction of their lives. This could very well lead to trained people not attempting life saving surgeries, or passers by attempting to assist in the event of car accidents etc as they could well be sued should anything go wrong as their interference automatically makes them responsible. This has shown itself to occur and will put lives at risk. Article 7 makes no sense at all. Nuclear power is the safest and cleanest form of high yield energy production that is currently available, not only that but with the current push by many parties to nationalise all energy producers just leads into a system where the government allows tax breaks to its own industries, an odd idea we're sure you'd agree. Should the current system continue we would actually allow an increased production in higher polluting industries as well as paying out increased costs to those industries that merely continue with the current policy that they are currently forced to follow. Article 8 would just be foolish as the current law allows any person to opt out whereas this change would require people to opt in. As most people are, at best, apathetic this would lead to a massive reduction in the number of organs available for transplant and so increase mortality rates within this Country, lives that would otherwise have been saved under the current system. Article 9 would lead to differing and confusing laws operating in differing areas of the Country. This would make it increasingly difficult for citizens and visitors within this Country to know whether they are breaking the law or not and would increase costs for the courts as otherwise simple to follow National laws become an incoherent morass of differing ideas and political infighting between regions. There are, of course, more detailed reasons against each of these articles, however we hope you see the problems and the antithesis of your position to form a "just, intelligent, and righteous society" by changing these laws to those you are aspiring to. |

Message | The Union Party is tired of being run rough shod over by the older parties of this government. We formed not to simply be an assistant to the interests of the socialists of Hobrazia or an occasional buddy to the social liberals, but to advance a particular agenda. These proposals are a part of our attempts to do so. If the rest of the government votes against us, then so be it. But at least we are standing for what we believe. |

Message | Fine, just remember that compromises are fundamental sometimes. Just look at my party's name and then at the many 'way too leftist' proposals to me I had to vote anyway, to prevent the 'way too communist' proposals to prevail :) |

Message | We are sorry, but we cannot accept 9 changes in our laws that we do not favour for 2 that we would like see implemented. We have to vote against this. |
