Bill: Education Choice

Details

Submitted by[?]: Protectorate Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 2074

Description[?]:

Our schools fail to teach our youth how to be responsible citizens, we propose permitting private religious schools for those who wish to send their children there. These will be regulated by the government so they achieve the same level of educational standards. Prayer is permitted if the schools wish but the time for prayer must be added on to the standard school day.

MessagePlease note ICWeapons that this law only permits prayer in private religious schools. Thus the students attending those schools have made a personal choice to seek this type of education.

Random fact: Any RP law granting extraordinary "emergency powers" or dictator-like powers to a government must be passed by at least a 2/3rds majority, but (like all RP laws) may always be overturned by a simple majority vote of the legislature.
