Bill: Consumer Protection Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Covenanters (IA)
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2287
Description[?]:
For the markets to work effectively consumers must be given the right to make an informed choice. For example: purebred nobles should be able to buy quality food, produced naturally in Luthori, without fear that they are being sold filthy foreign imports devoloped to feed starving mudskins. We are a healthy Empire that can feed its citizens perfectly well without resorting to these "feed the third world" measures. As such food products need to be adequately labelled and producers prevented from lying to consumers (any surplus of low quality food can be used for oversea aid - where it belongs!) |
