MessageI don't like it as it stands. Adding the regulations from the old bill (http://aiglesrv.no-ip.info:8080/particracy/main/viewbill.php?billid=1691) would be a start but I would like to see small bets/gambling games between people to be allowed with only larger bets being consigned to licenced places.

MessageI am in favour for an outright ban on gambling. If this is a step in that direction i'll happily go along with it.

Message@USM - Actually it's just a formalisation of the current legislation

MessageSmall bets would be able to be carried out in the betting shops that are already regulated, unless you can think of a better way of wording it?

MessageNot really...

We will vote for it anyway as we voted for the old law and this is effectively the same.

MessageThis seems fair, on the whole, but we have one small concern. In the light of this new proposal, would private gambling between friends eg. poker night with your buddies, become illegal?

MessageSorry, we really would like to vote for this but there must be a clarification on the "poker night" issue before we can decide one way or the other.

MessageI believe this is the first step towards outright banning. I can't support this.

Message@SDLP - I would urge you to vote as abstaining will hurt you more than voting one way.

Message@UB: Thanks for the heads up, I was aware of the negative effects of abstaining (particularly before an election!) but I'm sure you can understand my dilemma. It'll be no for now, but if my party's concerns were addressed we would have no problem voting yes.

MessageI've asked for a proposal allowing small-scale private and licensed gambling to be implemented. We can recreate this bill after its implementation.

They are all alike, whatever the nationality. All they wanted from me was the most work for the least money that kept me alive. So I became a communist." - Nikita Khrushchev
