Bill: Outlaw of Torture

Details

Submitted by[?]: Libertarian Communist Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 2036

Description[?]:

Torture is inhumane and brutal, regardless of the circumstances. Beluzia is above this form of barbarism, and we should show it by outlawing the practice.

In addition, torture to extract legal confessions has been continuously proven to be ineffective and lead to false confessions.

MessageWe have realized within the party, after internal debate, that abolishing the use of torture wholly is inappropriate. While torture is, for the most part, a barbaric practice, in exigent circumstances it ought to be implemented. Therefore we will change our vote to no and propose another bill that will allow torture only in the most extreme of circumstances.
