MessageOnce again, we are sympathetic to the ideals shown in this Bill, but we are slightly concerned that an unlimited, open door policy towards refugees might see local unemployment increase, and the use of low-paid foreign labour threatening the wage gains of local unions.

MessageEntão se tem receios de tudo isso que enumerou, desemprego e etc., porque propõe uma política de refugiados completamente desregrada, por exemplo? Completamente non-sense! Contra as três propostas, definitivamente!

"The Social Liberal Party understands that refugees, if they are not given protection and asylum, they will eventually die. We qualifications-based quotas in combination with an open door plus aid to refugees is not nonsense. Putting it flatly... It is simply the most successful immigration policy in the world, adopted by nations such as Canada and Australia." - António Vitorino - Internal Administration and Immigration Policy buff.

MessageOnce again, while we sympathise with all refugees that have had to flee from persecution, we believe that the SL proposal, made with good intentions, will encourage rather a flow of migrants coming to Lusitania for economic or lifestyle decisions.
The primary goal of any refugee policy should be to accept refugees in immediate and dire need first - then to other prospective migrants.
