Bill: Tax Reform Bill (2294)
Details
Submitted by[?]: Deltarian Nationalist Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: October 2295
Description[?]:
Sales tax on non-luxury good should be abolished as it is those who don't have it that still suffer. Even at it's current level the rich would not notice it but for those on a low income the amount they spend per year on tax would be felt. To cover this change and to bring in a little more revenue for the government we propose that luxury goods tax should be increased. |

Message | We can accept article 1, but there is no requirement in article 2. Let's allow our industry to remain competitive, but also use the surplus we are currently operating to reduce the costs to our people (increasing tax on industry often leads to increases in costs of goods, something that could negate the removal of the sales tax, which would be a shame). |
