Bill: Gun purchase bill
Details
Submitted by[?]: Neo-Marxist revolutionary Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 2088
Description[?]:
Responding to the peoples calls for the right to own guns to be curtailed to those who only require them, we of the Neo-Marxist revolutionary party do propose legislation conforming to the peoples wishes. Moreover, considering the recent incident in the Province of Bailon whereby a young student decided upon a shooting spree, killing students and teachers indiscriminantly we of the Neo-Marxist revolutionary party feel it is imperative that this bill get passed and so no further tragic incident of this magnitude can ever be repeated.
Professions whereby it is deemed necessary for firearm usage are as follows:
Military and all subdivisions there of.
Police force of Beluzia.
Security firms will also be allowed to use firearms however they will be restricted to using only non-lethal firearms. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change Ownership of guns by private individuals.
Old value:: Adult individuals may own guns under strict license conditions.
Current: Adult individuals may own guns under strict license conditions.

From | Neo-Marxist revolutionary Party | To | Debating the Gun purchase bill | Message | Quite aware. But since the youth squads are not recognised by the government or by parliament, and are likely to be considered a terrorist organisation being a paramilitary organisation and as such maybe put to death. I see no harm in attempting to dissuade our young people from becoming acquainted with the death penalty by enacting a piece of legislation in line with what the people wish. |

From | Partisans And Artisans League | To | Debating the Gun purchase bill | Message | No guns should be allowed if there is a healthy recreational hunting industry within a country....and I'm going to say there is in Beluzia because it suits me to do so. |

From | Neo-Marxist revolutionary Party | To | Debating the Gun purchase bill | Message | And from looking our current legislaion it would appear that we do. Although we do not agree that hunting should be allowed either, but that's a whole different debate. |

From | Neo-Marxist revolutionary Party | To | Debating the Gun purchase bill | Message | Either or, I've seen both; don't know which you're supposed to use. It would be a good idea, especially considering some are months old now. |

From | Free Beluzians | To | Debating the Gun purchase bill | Message | The FBP polled its members, and has decided that they will vote for this bill after the following question has been answered:
What professions would be deemed able to use a gun? |

From | Partisans And Artisans League | To | Debating the Gun purchase bill | Message | This is rediculous - how do you intend hunters to hunt? Spear animals? Guns aren't bad - they have no personality - the people who kill others are bad. Why make them illegal anyway? All it serves to do is to take guns away from those who use them appropriately and responsibly, and yet crimnials will still have them because they will obtain them illegally. Harsher sentences for the misuse of guns is the answer - not banning a simple piece of mechanical equipment. Hundreds of Beluzians are killed each year by hands and fists; are you going to ban them as well? What, do you propose that we cut everyones' limbs off?
"Hand in your hands today!" yeah...nice punchline... |

From | Neo-Marxist revolutionary Party | To | Debating the Gun purchase bill | Message | The professions deemed able to use guns would be: the Police and Armed forces as stands I don't believe any other profession needs to use guns. Do please correct me if I'm wrong. |

From | Social-Liberal Party | To | Debating the Gun purchase bill | Message | If the NMRP believes that these professions are strictly military- and police- related then the NMRP should amend its proposal and put this into the bill. We will support such anamendement, although we feel security firms should be able to have limited acces as well. |

From | Neo-Marxist revolutionary Party | To | Debating the Gun purchase bill | Message | With regards to security firms however we would recommend that they only be allowed to use non-lethal weapons. They are after all not a govermental agency of any sort nor are they a military power. |
