MessageCitizens should be free to move about without the infrigement or watchful eye of the federal government. We strongly favor allowing citizens to use private transportation. We would like to see the promotion of fuels that are native to Malivia. Perhaps hydrogen or methanol. We also believe that the right of citizens to own and operate private transportation is not an opportunity for the government to tax with a punitive effect.

From Free Reform Coalition (FRP)
ToDebating the Automobile pollutants
MessageEM, SRP and PP all make points with which we agree.

the FRP stands by private ownership of vehicles but also supports public transportation. we support this bill as it stands because it offers a compromise between environmental friendliness and the rights of the individual to travel freely.

as far as using different types of fuel are concerned, gasoline is a stable source for the time being, but it will become necessary to switch prior to oil reserves getting low, merely because of the fact that:

a) we use oil to produce plastics, gasoline and for a number of other uses.

b)plastics are very hard to make without oil, whereas fuel can be obtained from different sources.

c)about 60-70% of the man-made world we live in is actually made out of some sort of plastic derivative, we must save oil for these uses rather than fuel.

we agree with EM about promoting the use of our own fuel types such as hydrogen fuel cells and methanol.
