Bill: SLP - 2% Sales Tax Cut

Details

Submitted by[?]: Social Liberal Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 2297

Description[?]:

Sales taxes are still way too high in Lusitania. Since the Social Liberal Party became the government of Lusitania, we have reduced Sales Taxes dramatically and will continue to do so. By our estimates this will return nearly 12 billion DAR directly into people's pockets, dropping prices on consumer goods.

Our calculations point to a budget that will still have over 7 billion DAR in surplus. At such time I am then comfortable with saying that we will have by then, restored the bare essential points to a centrist, moderate, socially progressive and economically liberal governance.

We still have much work to do. The economy must grow, there are still plenty of taxes to cut and more budget spending to axe in some places and raise in others. There are countless laws that still need reform.
Slowly but steadily we are getting there.

Warren Buffett, Minister of Finance.

MessageWe agree with tax reduction. Though we do not see any possibilities to do so safely when the SLP continues to raise government spending in sectors which are not responsibility of the State such as Education, Health, Social Services, etc. We think that the SLP should re-think its politics and make a tax-reduction with coherence or Lusitânia will be in serious trouble in the future at the hands of the incompetece of this Government and his leftist Prime-Ministe Guy Verhofstadt who wants the State to controls everything.

MessageThe best economies in the world are those who channel their government spending on education and health.

Furthormore our Social Liberal Party is so incompetent that we have already begun to see the results of this incompetence. The GDP/capita now stands at 22.736 DAR.

The Social Liberal Party is getting results.

MessageWhen the CP party left government, the GDP/capita was barely at 21000 DAR/capita, and dropping.

MessageNot only is Lusitania on the way to recovery and growth, but we've made sure that ALL Lusitanians are entitled to economic freedom. Those who fail in the capitalist game, are now given a fighting chance to get back up and try, as opposed to before when they had no social support at all, unable to afford, health-care, education, or child-care services to help them get jobs without worrying about their children.

Liberalism MUST be freedom for all, and those who think that a corporation or a capitalist cannot be as oppressive as a big government are terribly mistaken.

MessageThe SLP and its paternalist attitude as if it was the owner of moral and knowledge. Typical.

MessageWe have offered our assessment of the past, present and future social-economic situation of Lusitania. This is a government duty. Not a foray into show business.
