Message"This ought to be an agreeable budget as long as the Congress accepts the proposed tax raises. In all honesty, the proposed nationalization of education, health, and other critical industries requires the spending hikes above. Also, the hike in Defense spending is only reasonable considering the fact that we presently mandate a period of national service for all individuals, and that such individuals deserve compensation."

MessageWe support all these changes, and suggest that, after fiscal year 2300, Environment and Tourism's budget be reduced by 2 hundred million pounds to reflect the Ministry's decreased need for funding after the Games.

MessageCertainly, that's an excellent suggestion. Where do the other parties stand? Labour? Radicals?

MessageUm, there's a problem. If this passes, and the tax plan passes, we'll be running with nearly a 20 BILLION pound deficit! That can't work!

MessageIgnore that. We didn't factor in the income from the National Luxury Tax. Never mind....

MessageI`m not sure that decreasing spendings on Justice is a good idea. And doubling the expeditures on defence is unacceptable. We ought to be a pacifist country.

MessageAgreed, but we also have a mandatory national service program in this country. Those soldiers need to be paid, and I don't see where in the budget they're getting that salary today.

MessageWe too hold to the opinion that this is overly supportive of the military, but we also understand the position of the IADP.

MessageEither we cut mandatory service or not.

We'll put this to a vote. If there is enough support it will pass (there should be enough).

MessageThis bill needs to be further refined and discussed amongst our parliament (ooc: or its equivilent. How do we pass laws here in Telamon anyways? Or do we just go with what the system gives us?). Therefore, we disapprove of it until that can be done.

MessageThis will be put to a vote now, and I hope I can count on parties' support. Simply put, I didn't think you'd guys would see this and come and debate it any further. I hope you recognize with the added trouble in Solentia that the military increase becomes even more necessary.

MessageAfter recent events, this is hardly the time to be slashing the justice budget - surely if we can obtain those responsible we will want to put them on trial? Secondly, as we wish to see compulsory national service abolished we do not agree with the increases in the defence budget, although with recent event we can see an argument for increasing the defence budget we cannot support the overall bill. As such we vote no and suggest that another spending bill is produced which can allow increases in the defence budget without increasing national spending so much.

(OOC: and just because I feel like being pedantic, you all realise contrary to what is stated in Section 1 A, the money is not going to the Presidency as the President is not head of government, but head of state. It is going to the Prime Minister who is the head of government.)
