Bill: Strategic Industries Regulation Act of 2074

Details

Submitted by[?]: Proletariat Revolution Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: August 2076

Description[?]:

Acknowledging that the government should adopt a policy that lies between laissez faire and complete control of the market, SLP hereby recommends that, in regards to policy, the government adopts this one.

The services that this bill will permit the government to intervene in are those which provide hydro-electricity, water-purifying facilicities, and other similar elements that are crucial to the socio-economic infrastructure of the nation.

Whereas the nation of Likatonia is a free market nation, the private sector is not restricted in these areas. The private sector, providing it adheres to national guidelines, may invest in the strategic industries. Private ownership of these industries is also permitted, provided that the privately owned industries follow the same rules and regulations as the public domain.

MessageThere was only in emergencies, full intervetions and none. I thought that in the case of hydro and water, there should be some government control.

MessageWe would like to point out that the Likatonian government has a past commitment that must be violated in order to pass this:

This doesn't deter us from supporting it, but it would be dishonest to fail to bring that up.

MessageNCP - in this case, we're talking about important to the necessity of the public good. This bill won't encrouch on the other. This only helps support water facilities, hydro, transporation...

We are allowing private ownership.

MessageAnd other industries (even if they make products that are a necessities) won't be considered a strategic one. It has to be something for the entire public or part of public infrastructure.

MessageDo we have your support still?

We're trying to keep this bill from conflicting with yours. We do it by only investing in basic infrastructure, while allowing private ownership and investment.

Random fact: It is possible for a player to transfer ownership of a character or a royal house to another player. This should be done in a public way, such as on the Character Transfers thread, so that if a dispute arises in the future, Moderation can be pointed towards evidence of the transfer.
